What you will do

The company is scaling its global insurance ecosystem for customers who own, operate, and depend on heavy trucks, buses, and construction equipment. As VP of Insurance Services, you will architect and accelerate insurance offerings that strengthen the customer experience, deepen loyalty, and unlock new global revenue. 

This is a senior leadership role that blends product vision, carrier relationships, operational excellence, and commercial growth. You’ll steer our insurance journey from strategy through execution, working closely with VFS markets, guiding cross-functional teams and crafting relationships with insurance carriers that can carry real weight in the industrial world.

Key Responsibilities

This role carries full ownership of the global insurance product and portfolio agenda, shaping the strategic direction for insurance solutions across trucks, buses, and construction equipment. It involves driving the evolution of a product offering designed to enhance uptime, reinforce customer financial protection, and strengthen lifecycle value. A critical aspect is ensuring that every product aligns with local regulatory requirements while maintaining global coherence. The mandate also extends to introducing innovative concepts such as usage-based models, embedded services, and digital-first experiences, and to cultivating and guiding a strong global insurance community.

A central focus is the development of the overall program and stakeholder strategy. This means building and maintaining strong relationships with insurance carriers, brokers, MGAs, and specialty providers worldwide. Negotiating program structures that achieve the right balance between customer value, competitive positioning, and financial sustainability is key. At the same time, the role is responsible for shaping scalable multi-market frameworks and enhancing risk management capabilities, leveraging Volvo’s product safety strengths to deliver an effective and competitive insurance offering.

Commercial growth and market development form another major pillar of the assignment. The position is tasked with creating and embedding a global go-to-market strategy for insurance services, working in close collaboration with VFS market sales teams, dealer networks, and digital channels to increase penetration and accelerate customer adoption. To support regional performance, the role includes establishing insightful dashboards, forecasts, and analytics that guide profitable, sustainable growth.

Operational excellence stands at the heart of this function. Clarifying and optimizing the end-to-end insurance service lifecycle from onboarding to policy administration and claims management is essential. Processes are expected to be transparent, efficient, and genuinely customer-centric. Driving digital transformation across quoting, underwriting, renewals, and claims handling is equally important, alongside safeguarding strong governance, compliance, and risk management standards throughout the insurance value chain.

As a global leader and collaborator, this position brings together cross-functional initiatives spanning product development, operations, compliance, data, and sales enablement. Close cooperation with VFS markets ensures that solutions remain relevant to local needs while upholding enterprise-wide standards. Representing the insurance services vertical at the executive level, the role contributes meaningfully to broader corporate strategy and the long-term evolution of Volvo Group’s insurance business.

Qualifications

• 12+ years in insurance, ideally with experience in commercial lines, equipment, fleet, or embedded insurance.
• Proven success building insurance products and collaborations across multiple markets.
• Strong understanding of underwriting, claims, and insurance operations.
• Experience leading global teams and navigating complex regulatory environments.
• Commercial acumen with a track record of driving measurable growth.
• Ability to translate industrial customer needs into elegant insurance solutions.
• Executive presence paired with collaborative leadership style.
• Extensive experience in senior leadership roles, preferably within an international environment.
• Strong commercial acumen and the ability to act as a trusted business partner.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to inspire and develop highly performing individuals and teams
